LEAGUES ARE BACK

IMPORTANT
INFORMATION
As
the government is advising against attending pubs and clubs, the
Benevolent league, and Double-In league are suspending their leagues
immediately until further notice.
This
means that the Double-In leagues Captains & Secretaries knockout
and Ladies knockout, Fridays Benevolent knockout, and next weeks
Presentation nights for both leagues will not be happening on their
scheduled dates.
This
decision will be kept under review and will be updated in due course
when the Government advice changes.
This
also means the coming Friday Summer league & Star Darts league
will also be postponed until further notice.

the 7th August 2018 is the AGM for the Double-In Double-Out Darts
League at 8pm at the Newtown Social Club. Please could all teams from
last year confirm with me if they are entering the league this year,
or not.
New
teams are always welcome, the league is 6-a-side, so you will need
at least 6 players to start a team.

SUSSEX
LADIES SUPER LEAGUE 2018-2019
Hi
Ladies, this season we are proposing to have the ladies super league
split into an East and West side. This is to encourage ladies who
enjoy darts but don't want to do all the travelling across the county
on a Thursday evening. So, this is your opportunity to put in a team
in your local area to be able to progress your darting ability and to
have a fun evening.
All
you will need is a minimum of 5 players per team, as its 2 pairs and
5 singles. There will be a signing on fee for the team and
registration fees for the players, these will be decided at the
Ladies super league AGM. Date of the AGM is to be decided. Currently
they are £60 per team and £5 per player. There is also a
£20 a week match fee.
Other
team requirements are: -
Two
darts boards, one for the match with a raised oche, another for
practise, preferably away from the match board.
A
computer to do the scores and results on.
Any

was to do with the Singles and Pairs knockouts being the wrong way
round on the website pages, therefore i have updated the website pages.
So
to confirm,
the Pairs Knockouts are on the 25/8/17 & Singles Knockouts are

NOTE
TO ALL PLAYERS AND TEAMS - I have been informed that the league
rules supplied with your team paperwork last week were incorrect.
The
main problem was League Rule 6, where it still stated that the
delivery address for your results sheets was the POW pub. It is not
the POW pub, your results sheets must be delivered to the Results
Secretaries address, 7 Stroud Green Drive, North Bersted, Bognor
Regis, PO21 5SY.

lists supplied with your team paperwork last week contained errors.
Therefore i have had to update the fixtures to the ones uploaded
here. I have had a lot going on lately and i rushed the first
versions and made mistakes. I apologise if you have informed your
venues of your home matches, but some of them may have changed.
Please make sure that you inform your venues of any changes. Don't

Rules updated due to the resignation of Ros Horn. (see letter below) |

To
All Members of Stardarts,
It
is with regret that I have to inform you that we have received a
letter of resignation from Ros Horn. Due to this we have had to hold
an emergency meeting with committee members. The outcome of this
meeting was we are accepting the resignation and have appointed for
the rest of this season a secretary and treasurer using existing
committee members. Secretary of the league will now be Hayley Gatford
and treasurer will be Karen Wilson with Peter Hall still doing result
sheets. We will now require all result sheets to be sent to Prince of
Wales, Bognor from 24th May (by requested days as previous). Also
please state on envelopes what team they are from and whether men's
or ladies.
We
are in need of email addresses for captains/secretaries ASAP as
hopefully up and running soon we shall be emailing result sheets
across to cut back on costs. We would like to thank you for your
continued support and please be patient with us as this is going to
be a learning curve for a lot of us.

On
Friday 18th September during the Summer League Presentation the
Bognor Benevolent Darts League gave 3 cheques to charity.

The
first cheque went to 4SIGHT, the West Sussex Association for the
Blind. 4SIGHT was established in 1921 and improves the lives of over
2000 blind and partially sighted people in West Sussex.
Sarah
Brookes from 4SIGHT accepted the cheque for £500.

Our
second cheque went to the Friends of PICU which is a charity run by
volunteers who support the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit at
Southampton General Hospital. They provide first class care and
treatment to over 900 critically ill children every year from all
over the South of England.

Misslebrook accepted the cheque for £500 on behalf of Friends
of PICU. |

The
last cheque went to St Barnabas House Hospice in Worthing. One of
our league members, John Elliott from the ASC team, passed away
peacefully in St Barnabas House last month due to health problems
over the past year. He was laid to rest on the 24 th August.
John's
wife Val accepted the cheque of £500 from the league on behalf
of St Barnabas House. |

the 4th April this year the Bognor
Benevolent Darts League
held an Extraordinary General Meeting. Over 40 league members turned
up for this meeting, and some of you gave ideas of charities that the
league could give to. After a meeting, your new committee members
chose 12 charities from those you gave, and we have started to
receive thanks for our donations.
Please

IMPORTANT
INFORMATION FOR ALL TEAMS AND PLAYERS
We’re
now 2 weeks into the new season, and have received all but one of
the Team Details forms (this should be received with your week 2
result sheet at the latest).
We
have sent out emails to all the email address on the Team Details
forms. Can we please request that you reply to this email when you
receive it so that we know that it is correct. Thank you. If you
haven't received an email from the committee and wish to receive the
weekly results link and other emails, please send us an email at
admin@bognor-darts.co.uk asking for your email to be added to the list.
The
committee now have an official new mobile number that teams and
players can use to contact the committee. This number is 07949 742735.
Please store this number in your mobile under the name of
“Bognor Friday Darts”, or keep a record of it with your
paperwork. And do let your players know of this too, just in case.

that this is only for the Friday Summer and Winter Leagues only, no
other leagues.

You wish to postpone a match (in accordance with League Rule 17).
2.
You wish to inform the committee that you would like to enter a
knockout, but will be late (in accordance with League Rule 26).
3.
You need to contact the committee about something else.
4.
Or any other reason.
This
mobile could be held by any member of the committee, but please do
not expect the holder to answer a call or reply to a text straight
away. If it’s a match night, the holder may be playing a game,
so please be patient. Texts would be preferred as they are stored on
the phone, but if you need to leave a voicemail please do.
If
you know of anyone who needs to contact the committee for any
reason, please pass on this number.
