2008 League Rules

  1. All Games to be played on a Friday.

  2. Teams to be registered at the start of the season, and the names of the players to be sent to the League Secretary with the results of the first match.

  3. Captains and Secretaries to be named at the start of the season, and only the named Captain and Secretary is allowed to take part in the Captains and Secretaries Cup Knockout.

  4. Players may be signed on for any team on the night, provided they have not played for any other team during the current season, otherwise Rule 5 applies. Any player signed on after the first game will be subject to a £1.00 registration fee.

  5. Any transfer to be notified to the league secretary 7 days prior to the player playing their first game.

  6. Teams to notify clubs 72 hours prior to the game, with a list of players and supporters.

  7. League Format shall be:

      5 x Singles matches - 501 - Straight in - Double out - (Best of Three legs)
      1 x Pairs match - 501 - Straight in - Double out - (Best of Three legs)
      1 x Trebles match - 501 - Straight in - Double out - (Best of Three legs)

  8. Draw to be made for the Singles only. (Both Captains may agree on the night not to do a draw for the singles. If they cannot agree, a draw must be done). If any player in singles game is not in attendance after second calling, then a substitute may be played. Captains to record all walkovers.
    Pairs and Trebles players are at the Captains discretion.
    Players' names must be written down (in full) on the result sheet, before the Singles matches start. Ditto for the Pairs & Trebles matches.

  9. No player may play more than once in the Pairs and Trebles.

  10. All games are Nearest the Bull for the first darts (Home team goes first), the winner throwing first in the first and third legs. Any dart hitting the board and bouncing / falling out, can be re-thrown.

  11. Individual Wins and Tons only recorded in the Singles matches. 180's are to be noted in all games.

  12. Each Leg Won is 1 point to the Winning Team.

  13. There will be no postponed matches, unless mutually agreed and the League Secretary notified. All re-arranged games are to be played by the end of the season.

  14. A £15 registration fee is payable at the start of the season, plus £5 per week per team to the League funds, to be sent or delivered with the results sheet, to the Prince of Wales, Bognor, by the Monday following the match. For late results sheets, the offending team may be fined £5 and / or have their averages and points deducted. Every team is responsible for their own sheets, therefore Home and Away teams must send their sheets separately.

  15. Promotion and Relegation will be decided on the overall match points.

  16. If the committee decides to award a match for whatever reason, this will be awarded as a 9-5 Win. (7 Singles, 1 Pair and 1 Treble)

  17. Protests must be submitted to the Committee in writing with a £5 fee. Team Captains or Secretaries to attend the meeting when notified.

  18. Players causing a disturbance will be suspended for a minimum of 4 weeks, and the Committee reserve the right to extend the suspension accordingly.
